The Story Behind the Book

Jimmy did not follow a traditional path to influence. Originally from Taiwan, he built his legal career on an E-2 visa in a profession where the usual doors, including recruiters, pedigree networks, and polished job offers, were largely closed to him. He scored a 152 on the LSAT on his third attempt. He failed the bar exam three times before being admitted to practice. None of it stopped him.

In October 2022, he co-founded Lai & Turner Law Firm with his partner Braden Turner. The firm has since grown to more than twenty team members, handling immigration matters nationwide and globally alongside family law, criminal defense, estate planning, and personal injury cases in Oklahoma.
