Wendy Lam

Wendy began her academic career in Hong Kong, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education, before pursuing her legal education in the United Kingdom. She holds an LLB from the University of Buckingham and an LLM from University College London (UCL) in United Kingdom. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Prior to joining Lai & Turner, she gained legal experience across three jurisdictions, including work on a large-scale regulatory enforcement matter involving approximately 800 clients at a UK law firm, as well as legal training in Hong Kong and the United States.

Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (including legal Chinese), Wendy is able to advise clients directly in their native language throughout the immigration process. Holding nationalities and residency rights across Hong Kong, Macau, Portugal, and the United Kingdom, and having lived in Hong Kong, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, she brings a deeply personal understanding of the complexities of navigating immigration systems across different countries, and she is committed to guiding her clients through each stage of their case with clarity and care.

Wendy also volunteers on habeas corpus matters for individuals in immigration detention, working under federal statutes governing detention and release.
